Money is not earned as easy as spent!

A very weird question came across my mind last night when I was looking at my shoes bought two years ago. They are old and kaput enough for me to get a new pair by this Chinese New Year. I started to calculate a rough estimation cost of wearing these shoes. Say if I have worn these shoes for 300 days within two years by the time I dispose them, and the shoes’ cost was RM150. I’m actually paying 50 cents each day at the moment when I put on my shoes everyday! How about people who wear branded shoes like Nike Free 5.0 which costs about RM329 or let’s just make it a slightly more expensive pair at RM400 per pair and let’s assume that they are more durable perhaps for 400 days within two years. These people are actually paying about RM1 at the time they put on the shoes. Wow!!! It’s about the same as the bus fare. Can you imagine that??

Then suddenly, the next thing came into mind was cell phone. There are many people who are willing to spend thousands of RM for a phone nowadays. (By the way, I do not mean to offend anyone; it’s just my personal opinion that it’s very expensive. Perhaps you are persons who are going after sophisticated technology stuffs and willing to work ultra hard just to buy a luxury phone. Anyway, I’ll buy one too if I were REALLY rich one day.) Ok, let’s put the price of phone at RM1500, and the residual value of the phone is RM200 after 2 years. Can you imagine? You are actually paying around RM2 each day to bring the phone with you. We can never realize how easy our money is spent everyday!

These are just the two basic things in our daily life. There are lots more if I were to mention.

Again, I do not mean to offend people who are using expensive stuffs as they are RICH and they can AFFORD or possibly they have their own reasons. This post is actually meant to ring a bell that money is not earned easily (at least for my case). Hopefully, Lang Zhai is what and where that can help langzhais in getting some money or at least a place for happiness without much money spent!!!

We do not need to spend so much money on those things. It is really depend on the purpose.

Functions should be good enough to serve the purpose of having it.

If a person need a phone for calling and messaging, even a RM800+ phone can be considered expensive.

If a person need a PDA phone for business purpose, even a RM2500+ PDA phone can be considered worth.

Unless, there is other consideration for a person to make such decision.

For example, he is really satisfying to have Nike Shoe like Tim Duncan having and he affort to do so.

Another example, if a person pursue for stylish, and he affort to do so, there is nothing wrong as he does not hurt anyone.

Ya, it is expensive, somehow human is expensive. The more money you earn, the more you'll spend. Even for a person that not earning much money, but sometimes those people willing to spend much to buy something that they really like although is still expensive. Every person has thier own view, some people will think "yes, i earn this much, and i use the money to buy what i deserve" It just a way for console and making themselve feel better. Some people even think "what the purpose of keeping money, if the money not going to use, money is not useful" That's a big wrong man. Save the money, use it for the right purpose, you'll discover how important money is.I agree with cheong hooi's calculation. My gf seems to calc in this way everytime before she buy something. It reminds me before we buying something, think about izzit worth or not worth.
